Presenting....

BRYNN CORY LONG has joined our family!! March 13th (her due date) at 8:55 am She is 7 lbs 8oz. and 20 inches long.  She has dark hair like Drew did but not  as long as his was.  She is darling and makes lots of little squeaks. Drew smiles at her when she is out of our arms but he's not the biggest fan when she is in 'his place' on mom's lap or in dad's arms. He'll come around. :)

One Day Old

March 11th

So I had a friend ask to see a picture and I realized that I had NONE of me (except from the middle) prego and showing this belly.  This was Sunday, 2 days before the babe was born.  I was feeling so uncomfortable and huge.  Andrew took one picture for me but I decided we needed a full side view. :)  Anyway, I thought it was fun having these pictures and now being able to post pictures of 2 days after! (Not of me but of who was inside. ha :)

Projects and Improvements

So there have been a couple of sewing projects that I have worked on for the baby and her room that I wanted to share.  One was a car seat cover that was a little more girly than the very cute one I was given for Drew.

The buttons coordinate better with the top fabric than these pictures show.

The next project was new curtains in the baby's room.  What was there when we moved in, was a very bold Coca Cola valence. Not really my style. :)  Anyway, I found this tutorial on Pinterest for these ruffly curtains made from sheets.  Well, I've never sewn anything like this before and I would say that her tutorial was not that great.  Luckily, my mom is way more talented at sewing and I was able to get her help.  They look fine from a distance and in the picture but they are definitely NOT perfect.  I'm going to get some ribbons for ties for when we want some light in there.

Drew posing wishing Mom would be done with these projects.

As far as improvements go...we didn't have much for decoration in Drew's room and with renting, one is always restricted a little more.  Well, ROSS was our place to go to find what we wanted.  We spotted these vinyl stickers and the artwork that coordinated!  We were so excited for this find and the price!   The pictures don't do it justice really, but it looks fun and cute in in there now.  Drew likes when we count the numbers and at night some of the stickers glow in the dark!!  Now how can that get any more fun?

This really isn't it for the projects that we have or that I would like to get done before the baby comes (in 5 weeks ish) but who knows if we'll really get them done.  There is still a lot of organizing that I would like to get done.  I guess the nesting is kicking in.

Fishing in 2012

I was able to capture Drew quietly playing with his fishing puzzle and wanted to share his triumph in fishing by himself.  This was the first time he had done it alone!  He even caught 2!! :) (Yes, he is wearing underwear.  We were attempting potty training...he made progress but I have needed a break.)

Just some shots to share.
Big boy getting bigger with his classic look.

Playing in his tent that he got from his cousins for Christmas.

Christmas

Andrew and I spent Christmas morning here in Big Sandy, then went to church with my sister an hour away and spent the day with them.  It was different having our "own" Christmas, but it was fun!  Drew's interest in the presents wasn't much at first, but then once he realized that fun things were waiting for him behind the wrapping he got into it.

"Gotta see if they taste good."

Great Grandma and Grandpa Quinn gave Drew a car (not the one he is holding) and teddy bear and here he is showing his love for it!
"Merry Christmas!!"

Holidaze

We FINALLY got a tree.  We were headed to get a live one and then last minute we decided to get a fake tree.  It looks nice and it was fun to have the feeling of Christmas complete in our home.
This would be Drew throwing a fit by the tree because I wouldn't let him hold the camera.  Life is so hard for a toddler. :)

The smile came before the shot took.

Drew loves his books.  I was able to capture this funny moment recently, when I was cleaning up the kitchen and he came in to 'read' his book.  He is so funny.

Backing up...here was our Thanksgiving Dinner crew.  We had 20 people there (including the babies).  A good portion of the food came from Mom and Dad's garden!

 Smile!
Meal times are either a hit or a flop with Drew, but we can usually rely on him eating a good breakfast.
